Helsinki Photo Festival announces limited edition!
Nordic Village is a visual art talent platform fostered by Helsinki Photo Festival to support emerging Nordic photographers. The platform exhibits visual artists from the countries of the north to a broad audience in Finland and internationally. The program includes educational activities with experts from the Nordics. The platform has now initiated a limited edition print program to give Nordic artists access to sell to collectors and fine art lovers around the world. The first edition includes works by Icelandic photographers Maria Kjartans and Ómar Sverrisson, Norwegian photographer Stig Marlon Weston, Swedish-American photographer Florence Montmare, Danish photographers Birgitta Steen, Lisa Pram, Anne Lass and Marie Bentzon, and Finnish photographers Sari Soininen and Svante Gullichsen.
The limited edition program includes a number of selected international photographers who were exhibited at Helsinki Photo Festival during earlier years. First signings are Korean photographer Jooeun Baae and internationally celebrated Indonesian photographer Dilla Djalil-Daniel.
The edition is limited to 30 prints only. Each work is signed and numbered with a unique Helphoto Editions label that is supplied separately. A webshop is scheduled to open in the nearest future with all signed artists and upcoming talents such as Estonian photographer Angelika Kollin, Swedish photographer Carl-Mikael Ström, Finnish photographer Tomas Olsen, Belgian photographer Charlotte Mariën and Spaniard Oskar Alvarado. The complete limited edition will be exhibited from January 5th-March 9th, 2022 at the Scandic Hotel Marski gallery in downtown Helsinki
The project is supported by Nordisk Kulturfond. Stockholms Auktionsverk, the oldest auction house in the world still operating today, is the trading partner for this limited edition.
Helsinki Photo Festival is a non-profit association created to attract interest and disseminate information on photography and visual culture in Finland and abroad. Galleria Futura is the pop-up gallery of the festival.
