Photo exhibition showcasing 10 Nordic photographers on the theme of Courage takes place outdoors at Hanaholmen’s Art Park (Hanasaaren’s Taidepuisto). The curated group exhibition Nordic Village 23 is set up on the beautiful soothing half-island Hanaholmen on the border of Helsinki and Espoo.
The Nordic artists get selected through a jury of photography experts responsible for the festival’s open-call contest. The theme in 2023 is Courage. The exhibition is accessible 24/7 to the general public and easily reachable by nearby metro, bike or with car.
The highlight of the Nordic Village project is a seminar with established Nordic visual artists, gallerists, photography teachers, photo editors and book publishers which will be organised on September 22, 2023 at Emma Museum of Modern Art.
The Nordic Village is a talent platform fostered by Helsinki Photo Festival to support emerging and groundbreaking Nordic photographers from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. Exhibitions take place in Finland and internationally.
The sixth edition of the festival takes place August 5th-October 30th, 2023. The event brings a new art experience with visual art from various genres and site-specific installations to Greater Helsinki.
The Nordic Village exhibition is made possible with the support of Sparstiftelsen i Esbo-Grankulla.
