Helsinki Photo Festival has received a record number of 428 applications from 55 countries for the open call with the theme Fearless. The association is proud to announce 96 shortlisted candidates who will move further into the second round of voting to decide the finalists of this year.

Portfolio reviews winners 2020
Helsinki Photo Festival Portfolio Reviews were held August 28-29, 2020 at the Ateljee facility of The National Museum of Finland. 43 artists from 3 continents applied to get review sessions with leading experts in the field of photography including Curators, Festival Directors, Acquisitions Editors for photography and many more. The jury is pleased to announce the winners of the festival’s portfolio reviews now.

Two of the most experienced and celebrated photographers, a Finnish-American photographer Arno Rafael Minkkinen and a Finnish photographic artist Stefan Bremer will talk about their 3 decades of artist career and photographic education.
Due to Covid19 travel restrictions Arno Rafael Minkkinen will safely participate online from his Finnish Caravan tent at Foster’s Pond in the US and Stefan Bremer you can meet and listen to at the Auditorium of the National Museum of Finland.

The Helphoto team is proud to present to the public a third edition of their international visual arts event, Helsinki Photo Festival 2020. The festival, organized from July 7th to September 30th, will attract photo enthusiasts to exhibitions of 58 international and Nordic photographers spread all over the City of Helsinki. The theme for the festival is Trust, a vital cornerstone for every society given the challenging times the world has been facing throughout 2020.
