SAMI MANNERHEIMO

Sami Mannerheimo (b. 1966) is a professional photographer based in Helsinki working globally on assignments. He is specialized in portrait & documentary photography. Beyond his commissioned works, he has participated in various art projects. He has been travelling a lot in Latin America e.g. Brazil, and Africa e.g. Kenya amongst many other countries.
He has started his photography company in 2000 and has worked on many assignments for magazines, newspapers, advertising agencies, record companies and PR offices. Sami has held 12 exhibitions of his own and won eight prizes in Advertising Photography Awards in Finland.
Sami has won the open call “From Helsinki with Love” with his documentary images from Afro Sunday. Moreover, he had a pop-up exhibition for Helsinki Photo Festival with his Baby Elephant series from Kenya at the annual Elephantasy event in the Alppipuisto park during the summer.
