Francesco Catania is a photographer based in London, where he works with still and moving images. He has completed a Masters in Photography Arts at the Westminster University in London, which follows the attendance of a previous Professional Photography Course at the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia in Milan. Besides working in portrait photography as an independent photographer, he is committed to the representation of identity as an experience of living.
In his current practice, photography explores human identity and representation, creating a space in between fiction and reality through the lens of a cinematic style. In his work, he investigates how people live and how modern society affects their behaviours, using the camera as a tool to capture and emphasize the interaction between people and of people into the world.
