Greek Homeless National Team
The pictures were taken during the team’s campaigns to four world cups, namely Glasgow, Oslo, Gratz and Mexico City, from 2016 to 2018, as well as during its games in refugee camps across Greece.
The team comprises homeless persons, rehabilitated substance users, immigrants, refugees and people living under extreme poverty.
The series follows the expeditions in a “behind-the-scenes” style, mostly during the setting up of the makeshift pitches and the backstage revolving around that, as well as the activities following the end of each game, which is to say before and after the football event itself.
The pictures fall into the category of documentary photography, a genre which produces clear and exact representations of persons, spaces and events.
