I am anarchist
The early twenties, very polite and educated, Mathieu lives with his parents a nice apartment in a wealthy neighborhood of the capital. Student in computer science, he is one of of those commonly called rioters. An activist for years, he has been masked in the Black Bloc for about 3 years. He thus decided to intensify his fight to advance towards a “better society”. This ephemeral demonstration tactic, which does not exist either before or after, is increasingly talked about in France. During the social movement of spring 2016 against the “Labour Law”, the Black Bloc became a major asset in the movement. The Black Bloc now stands in front of the trade unionist unions in the lead procession of demonstrators not attached to a party or trade union. Under their wild and unthinking appearance, these acts are all carried out with strategy and ideology. Most of the activists in the Black Bloc believe that violence is an evil, a necessary evil. Described or approved of the presence of a block of insurgent militants is increasingly talked about. The bloc now stands in front of the trade unionists in the “headline procession”, alongside the other determined militants. As an ephemeral, misunderstood and finger-pointed micro-society, the Black Bloc is a radical militant strategy fighting for utopia in violence if necessary. Things are then much more complex than one might think. Underneath the hoods and images of violence are above all human beings. Mathieu is one voice among many others. Activists who each have their own personality and ideals. A multitude of women and men. That is the true face of this movement. 2017-2019
