Helsinki Photo Festival first gathering in 2018 was fantastic and we could not have asked for a better start. So many talented and gifted photographers and artists that had an exhibition on their work. Emerging and established photographers were united on the festival and that was exactly what this event was for, to strengthen the bonds between photographers and artists in the Nordic countries and the world.

The selected winners of the festival’s open call “From Helsinki with Love” introduced artists works across photographic genres from 25 countries. The event exhibited 64 artists in outdoor- and indoor exhibitions and attracted +40.000 photo enthusiasts, residents, tourists to explore and see never before exhibited works in contemporary photography in the metropolitan surroundings of Helsinki.

The festival included a Nordic Village and international sites with pavilions, photo walks, popup events and artists-talks and lectures led by Danish, Swedish and Finnish photographers.
